Reaching Manali via air

The nearest airport from Manali is the Bhuntar domestic airport located at the Bhuntar area of Himachal Pradesh. It is about 50 kilometers far from Manali. You can get a taxi from Bhuntar airport to Manali.

However, we suggest not to rely completely on air-travel, since the flights are delayed frequently owing to the weather conditions.

Reaching Manali via train

There is no direct railway station in Manali. The nearest railway station is at Una district of Himachal Pradesh, which is about 250 kilometers far. Another railway station you can choose to halt is the Chandigarh station, which is at a distance of 310 kilometers from Manali.

From these stations, you will anyway need to hire a private taxi to reach Manali, and you will also need to schedule your trip according to the railway timetable. Hence, we suggest not opting railways to reach Manali.

Reaching Manali via road

Manali is well connected with the nearby tourist destinations and major Indian cities like Delhi, Jammu, and Shimla via road network.

There are regular government-run and private buses heading to Manali. You can also book Volvo tourist buses. Self-driving or riding private cabs on the Manali treks is also a great idea to catch the scenic glimpse of the snow covered terrain.
