Quite a dramatic title! Isn’t it? That’s because it just occurred to me that every entity or enterprise in every business is competing and thriving to become “The People’s Choice”. We want people to see only and only us. Today the target is not to compete in the market but to dominate it. And I find it amazing…..” Work and aim to dominate the industry, don’t just compete in it”. It definitely sounds amazing.
So the question: Is Gozo a nominee too? Would definitely not leave us on barren lands because customer is the king and who doesn’t want to be the king of the kings! But how do we present our nomination, how do we convince people to make us their only choice. Here’s how:
Gozo in Spanish stands for Delight. And that is what we aim at. We exist as outstation taxi-travel giant in India to delight—-our customers, our partners. We are very much aware of the hazards of outstation travel in India, also the haggling behind the booking of cabs/taxies, negotiating prices, authorizing service and their providers, and yet sighing over the pathetic travel trend we have in India. And therefore we are here not just as taxi service providers but as an idea of transforming the torments of travel in India into a delight.
When I joined Gozo as an intern I was told a story….the story of Gozo. It was founded by a group of men not because they were running bankrupt and wanted to make quick money or because they were unemployed and fed of nagging about scarcity of opportunity and this went in to create one for themselves. It was because they found themselves and others sighing about the disasters behind travel in India and started with Gozo: helping India drive across as an engine for social change. I felt aligned to their cause and said yes. And now that I work for them….. with them, I realize its much more than just another profit maximization strategy in the market.
“Grahak Devo Bhavah!!!” is what we believe in. Fundamentally what a customer expects from his travel is comfort, convenience and safety at reasonable prices. That’s exactly what we assure—-a quality service, licensed and authorized vehicle and driver, fair prices. “Travel one way, Pay for one way“ says our logo. We make sure that our customers pay only for what they want to pay. If you travel one way with Gozo, you pay for one way. Our prices include toll, service charges, other state bills and taxes and thus we you save the haggling for negotiations. Our drivers are well informed, properly groomed and licensed. We help you avoid cutting corners or promoting illegal business activities. We are reliable and efficient.
So, are we a nominee? A big Yes. Because we are clean and white, both at our cause and work. Can we become the People’s Choice? Well, that I leave to you.
