The Jagannath temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, an avatar of Lord Krishna. The deity is accompanied by Goddess Subhadra and Lord Balbhadra. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Jagannath temple Jargon:<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The flag on the top of the main temple flies in the direction opposite to the wind, defying the law of nature.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The History of the Jagannath temple architecture<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Studies reveal that the construction of the Jagannath temple was initiated by the Kalinga ruler- Anantavarman Chodaganga. He built the Jagamohan and Vimana portions of the temple during his reign from 1078 to 1148 CE. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During 1174 CE, the ruler of Odisha- Ananga Bhima Deva completed the temple and gave it the shape it holds today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are four distinct sections of the temple-<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The Vimana or Garbha Griha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; The main temples where the deities are seated.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The Mukhathala<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Front porch area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The Natya Mandap<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; It is the Lord\u2019s recreation hall.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>The Bhoga Mandap<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; It is the offerings hall where people eat the prasada.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b><i>Jagannath temple Jargon:<\/i><\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The temple lays no shadow on the ground.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Rath Yatra Festival at Puri<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the month of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ashadh<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (rainy season), usually during June or July Lord Jagannath\u2019s procession is taken out along with his companions- Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra.
