Thukpa is a popular Tibetan dish. It is a hot noodle soup made from meat. You can also get the vegetarian and eggitarian version of this dish. Though it sounds like a starter dish, yet it is fulfilling and sufficient for an average meal. Try thukpa at <\/span>Kunga<\/b> and <\/span>Dekevas<\/b> restaurants in Gandhi Road.<\/span><\/p>\n

Momos are the dumplings made of flour and stuffed with vegetables, noodles, or meat. You can also try steamed momos in hot noodle soup. Some of the great places to try momos are <\/span>Kunga<\/b> and <\/span>Dekevas<\/b> restaurants in Gandhi Road and <\/span>Hasty Tasty<\/b> in Nehru Road.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dalle is a hot chili pickle in Darjeeling. It is also served with momos. You can eat and take home Dalles from Darjeeling. Some of the best places to find Dalle include <\/span>keventers<\/b>, <\/span>Chowrasta<\/b>, and <\/span>Chowk Bazaar<\/b>. While at keventers do try their sandwich toast, it is just awesome.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kinema and Kakra ko Achar<\/span><\/h2>\n

Kinema is a preparation from fermented soy beans. Kakra is cucumber and Achar is a pickle. Kakra ko Achar is prepared from julienned cucumber, a pattern similar to making Kimchi (Japan and China). You can find this dish at the stalls in <\/span>Zakir Hussain road<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Churpi is a type of chewing bar, which the locals keep munching to keep themselves warm. It is not sweet and has a unique taste, which is good and worthy to roll in the mouth. You can also take home some churpi for winters. It is available in almost all street shops in Darjeeling.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from these dishes, given there is time, we suggest to try <\/span>Dum Aloo<\/b> and <\/span>Nepali Thali<\/b>. You can also <\/span>book cab for the entire day in Darjeeling<\/span><\/a> and enjoy the food trail.<\/span><\/p>\n
