There are two legendary palaces in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan, India- the Sajjangarh Palace and the City Palace of Udaipur. On your <\/span>visit to Udaipur<\/span><\/a>, along with other things to do, you can keep these places to visit in your bucket.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Palace was built by Maharaja Sajjan Singh, the 72nd ruler of the Mewar dynasty in Rajasthan. His efforts towards the development of Udaipur is remarkable and in a short span of 10 years, he turned the city into India\u2019s second municipality city after Mumbai.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sajjangarh Palace is also known as the Monsoon Palace. It overlooks the Fateh Sagar Lake and offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Udaipur. The wax museum at the Sajjangarh Palace is also worth a visit.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a historic monument in Udaipur. The palace stands on the banks of the lake Pichola. The remarkable places to visit in the City Palace are the Manak Hall (the hall of mirrors), Mor Chowk (a beautiful mosaic depicting peacocks in different forms), Krishna Vilas, and Chini Chitrashala (Chinese hall of paintings).<\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from these, there are other forts and palaces, which are now converted into heritage hotels and restaurants. Still, a greater part of these palaces are open for tourists. You can also enjoy the evening traditional recreational activities at these places. Following is the list-<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Jag Niwas<\/b>– It is also known as Lake Palace. It was formerly a royal pleasure place, but now a hotel. <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Shiv Nivas Palace<\/b>– It was a royal guest house, now a hotel.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Amet Haweli<\/b>– It was the residence of Rawats. It is now a heritage hotel and homes famous Ambri restaurant.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Fort Delwara<\/b>– It is located 30 kilometers Northeast of Udaipur. It is now known as the Devi Garh Fort Palace hotel.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
