Reaching Mahabaleshwar via air

The nearest airport to Mahabaleshwar is Pune airport, which is at a distance of about 120 kilometers. Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is also an option and is about 270 kilometers far.

There is no individual railway station in Mahabaleshwar. You need to reach Satara railway station, which is about 60 kilometers far from Mahabaleshwar. From here you can take cab or taxi to reach your destination. The Pune and Miraj railway stations are other two major stations, where you can halt and cover the rest of the journey via road.

If you want to seek adventure and follow the less traversed route, you can even halt at Diwan Khavati railway station in Khed region.

Roadways are the most comfortable and direct route to reach Mahabaleshwar. It is connected to NH 4 (National Highway 4). You can get private and state government buses from Pune, Mumbai, Satara, and other major cities of Maharashtra. You can also book a private cab to reach Mahabaleshwar. The road condition is good and easily accessible by private car.
